**Numbers 26:10** โ€” *"And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them along with Korah, whose followers died when the fire consumed 250 men. They serve as a warning sign."*

Korah did not stumble into rebellion. He organized it. He gathered 250 men of standing, constructed a theological argument, and challenged Moses with the language of equality: *"The whole community is holy"* (Numbers 16:3). His words were not entirely wrong โ€” yet his motive was entirely self-serving.

Scripture does not let this moment fade into footnote. It memorializes it. *They serve as a warning sign.*

The covenant community needs shepherds who lead from calling, not from appetite. When ambition dresses itself in the language of justice, the ground beneath it becomes unstable.

Walk with humility before the One who assigns the role. Stewardship is received, never seized.

Let us reflect on what we reach for โ€” and why.
