**Micah 3:4** โ€” *"Then they will cry out to the LORD, but He will not answer them. At that time He will hide His face from them because of the evil they have done."*

The prophets of Micah's day sold their counsel to the highest bidder โ€” blessing those who fed them, cursing those who did not. Then, when Assyria's shadow fell across the land, they cried out to God and heard only silence.

This is not God being cruel. This is covenant faithfulness working in reverse. Deuteronomy 31:17 warned Israel plainly: persistent, unrepentant rebellion would bring exactly this โ€” a hidden face, an unanswered cry.

Scripture reminds us that access to God is never a birthright we can presume upon while walking in willful corruption. Proverbs 28:9 confirms it: *"If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable."*

Consider the weight of that. The mercy we take for granted today is an open door โ€” not a permanent fixture.
