**Daniel 5:19** โ€” *"Because of the greatness that He bestowed on him, the people of every nation and language trembled in fear before him. He killed whom he wished and kept alive whom he wished; he exalted whom he wished and humbled whom he wished."*

Nebuchadnezzar's son Belshazzar inherited a throne โ€” but not the lesson that came with it.

This verse describes absolute earthly power, and it is chilling precisely because God *gave* it. Sovereignty delegated. Authority entrusted. Yet Belshazzar treated that stewardship as personal ownership, and by chapter's end, the hand on the wall had already written his verdict.

Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 21:1 that *"The king's heart is a stream of water in the LORD's hand."* No throne, no platform, no influence exists outside covenant accountability.

Walk with that awareness today โ€” whatever sphere of authority you carry was bestowed, not earned.

Consider the weight of what you hold, and Who placed it there.
