**Daniel 2:3** โ *"He said to them, 'I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand it.'"*
Nebuchadnezzar โ the most powerful ruler on earth โ could not sleep. His empire was intact. His armies were undefeated. Yet something stirred in him that gold and conquest could not quiet.
Scripture reminds us that God plants restlessness with purpose. The king's anxiety was not weakness โ it was an opening. Through that unsettled spirit, an entire kingdom would glimpse the sovereignty of the God of Israel (Daniel 2:47).
Consider the moments when your own spirit refuses to settle. Not every anxious night is an enemy. Sometimes the Lord withholds peace precisely because He is about to speak โ and He needs you leaning in.
Joseph knew this. So did Solomon when he asked for wisdom rather than wealth (1 Kings 3:9).
Let us not rush past the unrest. There may be a word from the Lord dwelling inside it.
