**Acts 19:27** β€” *"There is danger not only that our business will fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited and her majesty deposedβ€”she who is worshiped by all the province of Asia and the whole world."*

Demetrius the silversmith wasn't defending theology. He was defending revenue. His silver shrines of Artemis fed families, funded livelihoods, and built his standing in Ephesus. When Paul's gospel began to spread, Demetrius wrapped economic panic in religious languageβ€”a move as old as fallen humanity itself.

Scripture reminds us how easily we baptize self-interest with sacred vocabulary. We call it conviction when it is comfort. We call it devotion when it is dependence on what we've built.

The Ephesian crowd shouted for two hours, yet could not articulate why. Passion without truth is just noise in a coliseum.

Walk with honesty before God about what you are truly protectingβ€”and why.
