**Ezekiel 21:3** — *"I am against you, and I will draw My sword from its sheath and cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked."*
This is one of Scripture's most unsettling passages — and we must not soften it.
When Babylon's sword swept through Jerusalem, it did not discriminate. The covenant community had become so corrupted that judgment fell on the whole land. The righteous were not exempt from the suffering of national consequence.
This is not injustice from God — it is the weight of collective covenant failure. Ezekiel's task was to *testify* to that weight, not cushion it.
The shepherd who loves his flock does not hide the sharpness of holy justice. He names it clearly, trusting that mercy and truth must abide together.
