**Proverbs 31:14** β€” *"She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar."*

The ancient merchant vessel didn't wait for provision to arrive at its dock. It set course β€” deliberately, at cost, through open water β€” to bring back what the household needed.

This woman of valor is not passive in her stewardship. She studies what her household lacks, then moves. The Hebrew *'oniyyΓ΄t sΓ΄αΈ₯Δ“r* β€” trading ships β€” carried risk, distance, and discipline. Comfort was not the goal. Provision was.

Stewardship, Scripture reminds us, is rarely convenient. It asks us to leave the familiar shore. Proverbs 10:4 echoes this: *"Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."*

She is not anxious. She is *active in wisdom* β€” and that is a different posture entirely.

Consider the distance you are willing to travel for those entrusted to your care.
