**Daniel 7:5** โ€” *"Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. So it was told, 'Get up and gorge yourself on flesh!'"*

Daniel receives this vision while empires are devouring one another โ€” and he is a captive inside one of them. The bear, raised on one side, tilted toward aggression, holding conquered nations between its teeth โ€” this is not metaphor for the distant future. This is the world Daniel woke up in every morning.

Yet he continued to steward his post, interpret with wisdom, and walk in covenant faithfulness. The vision did not paralyze him. It *clarified* what he was standing inside of โ€” and who was still sovereign over it.

Scripture reminds us: naming the beast was never the final word. The Ancient of Days still presides.

Let us reflect on what it means to abide in clarity rather than fear.
