**Ruth 3:15** โ€” *"Bring the shawl you are wearing and hold it out. When she did so, he poured in six measures of barley and placed it on her. Then he went into the city."*

Boaz did not send Ruth back to Naomi empty-handed. Before the covenant was even formally sealed, before the legal transaction at the gate, he filled her shawl with grain โ€” a tangible pledge that his word would hold.

This is the character of a true steward: provision precedes proclamation. The barley was not a reward for Ruth's worthiness. It was a declaration of Boaz's integrity.

Scripture reminds us that God operates by the same principle. His mercy arrives before we have arranged ourselves to receive it. Grace fills the shawl we did not know we were holding out.

Consider the weight of what you are already carrying โ€” and who placed it there.
