**Jeremiah 34:3** โ€” *"And you yourself will not escape his grasp, but will surely be captured and delivered into his hand. You will see the king of Babylon eye to eye and speak with him face to face; and you will go to Babylon."*

Zedekiah had been warned. Not once โ€” repeatedly. Yet he continued to reign as though the covenant word of God was negotiable, as though obedience had a delay option.

This verse is not cruelty. It is mercy rendered in clarity. God told Zedekiah precisely what was coming โ€” not to crush him, but to give him one final, unambiguous moment to reckon with truth.

There is a particular grace in being told the cost before you pay it.

Scripture reminds us that God's warnings are themselves acts of shepherding โ€” the faithful voice calling before the fall, not after.

Consider the places in your own walk where clarity has been given, and patience has been the response to your delay.
