**Ezekiel 1:25** โ *"And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood still with their wings lowered."*
The creatures stopped. Wings folded. Motion surrendered.
Only then did the voice come.
Ezekiel's vision is relentless in its movement โ wheels within wheels, living creatures flashing like lightning โ yet the word of God arrives in the stillness, not the spectacle. The expanse above their heads was the threshold between the creaturely and the holy, and crossing it required one thing: ceasing.
We are not short on activity. We are short on lowered wings.
The covenant God who spoke above that expanse is the same God who dwells with those who grow quiet enough to receive Him. Psalm 46:10 does not say *slow down* โ it says *be still, and know.*
Let us reflect on what we might hear if we stopped long enough to hear it.
