**Psalms 97:7** β€” *"All worshipers of images are put to shameβ€”those who boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!"*

The shame described here is not merely embarrassment. In Hebrew, *bōőû* carries the weight of collapse β€” the moment a thing you built your life upon gives way beneath you.

Israel's neighbors carved gods from cedar and overlaid them with gold. Those gods could not speak at Sinai. They could not part the sea. And when the living God moved, every boast built upon them crumbled.

We do not carve cedar. But we steward our confidence somewhere β€” in reputation, in security, in systems we trust to hold.

Psalms 97:7 is not a condemnation to carry. It is a mercy to receive β€” a shepherd's warning before the ground gives way.

Walk with the One whose glory the heavens declare. Abide in the covenant that does not collapse.

Let us reflect on where our confidence is truly dwelling.
