**Leviticus 6:13** โ€” *"The fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it must not be extinguished."*

This was not a suggestion given to weary priests on difficult mornings. It was a covenant obligation โ€” tended through drought, grief, and distraction alike.

The altar fire in Israel's worship required *daily human faithfulness* to sustain what God had divinely ignited. Priests rotated. Seasons changed. But the flame did not waver, because stewards showed up.

Consider the devotional life the same way. God initiates the fire โ€” but we are called to tend it. Prayer, Scripture, obedience, worship: these are the morning wood laid on what He lit.

Neglect is not dramatic. It is simply the slow absence of tending.

By grace, the Spirit dwells within us as a living flame โ€” and yet we are still invited into the sacred work of keeping that fire from growing cold.

Walk with that responsibility today. The altar is yours to steward.
