**Job 1:7** โ€” *"Where have you come from?" said the LORD to Satan. "From roaming through the earth," he replied, "and walking back and forth in it."*

Notice what this exchange reveals: Satan does not operate from a throne. He roams. He walks back and forth โ€” restless, purposeless in the deepest sense, a creature without a home.

God, by contrast, is seated. Sovereign. He initiates the conversation. Satan must *answer* Him.

This is not a scene of two equal powers negotiating. It is a courtroom, and only One holds the gavel.

Peter echoes this in 1 Peter 5:8 โ€” *"Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."* Prowling is not ruling.

The beloved who abides in Christ does not share Satan's restlessness. We are not roaming โ€” we are *held*.

Let us reflect on the difference between a creature that wanders and a child who dwells.
