**John 10:24** โ€” *"So the Jews gathered around Him and demanded, 'How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.'"*

There is something achingly familiar in this demand. They wanted clarity on *their* terms, in *their* timing โ€” not revelation, but confirmation of what they'd already decided to believe or reject.

Jesus had been speaking plainly. The works testified. The Father's voice had echoed. Yet the heart that demands proof on its own schedule often cannot receive the answer already standing before it.

This is the posture Scripture warns us against โ€” not honest seeking, but sovereign insistence. The shepherd does not withhold the gate from the searching soul. He withholds it from the one who approaches with a clenched fist rather than an open hand.

Walk with the text slowly today. Notice what you are actually asking for when you ask God to speak *plainly* โ€” and consider whether you are prepared to abide in what He has already said.
