**Ezekiel 16:2** โ€” *"Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominations."*

God did not send Ezekiel to comfort Jerusalem. He sent him to confront her.

This is the shepherd's harder calling โ€” not to soothe what must be named, but to speak with enough covenant love that the truth lands as mercy, not condemnation. Ezekiel's rebuke was not cruelty. It was intimacy. You do not confront what you do not care for.

Consider the steward who watches a beloved community drift โ€” not into obvious sin, but into slow, comfortable compromise. The temptation is silence. Yet Scripture reminds us that grace sometimes arrives with a sharp edge, precisely because the Shepherd yearn for restoration, not simply peace.

Confrontation rooted in covenant is itself an act of love.

Let us reflect on what we have been called to name โ€” and whether we have had the courage to say it with both truth and tenderness.
