**Romans 8:16** β€” *"The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children."*

There is a difference between knowing a fact and receiving a witness.

You can memorize every covenant promise in Scripture β€” and still lie awake at 2am wondering if any of it applies to *you*. That gap between doctrine and assurance is not filled by more study. It is filled by the Spirit's own testimony, pressing into your spirit like a seal pressed into wax.

Paul's word here is *symmartyreō* β€” to testify *alongside*. The Spirit does not override your spirit. He joins it. He speaks *with* you, not past you.

This is how a child knows they are loved β€” not by reading their father's will, but by hearing his voice in the room.

Walk with that assurance today. Not the assurance you manufactured, but the one the Spirit has already placed within you.

Let us reflect on what it means to receive, not merely recite, our inheritance.
