**Luke 22:33** โ€” *"Lord, I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death."*

Peter meant every word. That is what makes this moment so tender โ€” and so sobering. His courage was genuine. His love for Christ was real. And yet, within hours, a servant girl's question would undo him by a courtyard fire.

Scripture reminds us that sincerity is not the same as strength. Peter's confidence was rooted in himself โ€” in what *he* was ready to do โ€” rather than in the grace that must sustain every act of faithfulness.

This is the quiet mercy of the passage: Jesus did not rebuke Peter's love. He simply knew what Peter did not yet know about himself.

The Lord receives our willing hearts even when they are not yet formed enough to carry what they have pledged.

Consider the gap between what you have promised God and what only His grace can actually fulfill in you.
