**1 Kings 2:2** โ€” *"I am about to go the way of all the earth. So be strong and prove yourself a man."*

David spoke these words to Solomon from a deathbed โ€” not from a throne room, not from a battlefield. The weight of a lifetime pressed into one final charge.

Notice what David did *not* say: *"Prove yourself by power"* or *"secure your dynasty by force."* The very next verse anchors the command in covenant obedience โ€” *"walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees"* (1 Kings 2:3).

Strength, in the biblical frame, is never raw capacity. It is faithfulness under the weight of what has been entrusted to you.

Solomon would inherit a kingdom. You may inherit a family, a calling, a season of grief, a moment of decision. The charge remains the same.

Let us reflect on what it means to steward the inheritance we have been given โ€” with courage rooted in the Word, not in our own resolve.
