**Joshua 8:8** โ€” *"And when you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do as the LORD has commanded! See, I have given you orders."*

After the shame of Ai's first defeat โ€” rooted in Achan's hidden sin โ€” God did not abandon Israel. He recalibrated them. The command here is precise, ordered, complete. No ambiguity. No improvisation. *Set it on fire. Do as the LORD has commanded.*

There is a pastoral weight in that sequence: obedience follows victory, and victory follows repentance. Israel could not march on Ai the second time carrying the same unconfessed weight from the first.

Stewardship of God's calling requires that kind of honest accounting โ€” not just of what lies ahead, but of what we have concealed behind us.

Walk with the God who restores the mission *after* the reckoning, not in spite of it.

Let us reflect on what God may be recalibrating in us before He sends us forward again.
