**Genesis 6:9** — *"Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God."*
Three descriptors. One man. Notice their order — righteousness and blamelessness are named first, but *walking with God* is the capstone. Moses doesn't write that Noah achieved moral standing and then God rewarded him with proximity. The Hebrew *hithhallek* — a reflexive, ongoing walk — suggests something more like a daily rhythm than a milestone reached.
Noah's generation was saturated with corruption. Genesis 6:5 tells us that "every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time." And yet, Noah walked. Not away from the noise — *through* it, with God beside him.
Covenant faithfulness rarely looks dramatic from the outside. It looks like showing up, day after day, in step with the One who called you.
Let us reflect on what it means to walk *with* God — not merely *for* Him.
