**1 Chronicles 12:6** โ€” *"Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, who were Korahites."*

Five names. One genealogical breath. Easy to skip past.

But these were Korahites โ€” descendants of the very family whose ancestor led a rebellion against Moses (Numbers 16:1โ€“3). That lineage carried shame. And yet here they stand, numbered among David's mighty warriors, covenant men who crossed to his side at Ziklag.

Scripture reminds us: God does not discard a bloodline because of its worst moment. He redeems it.

The Korahites who once stood in rebellion against God's anointed now *defend* God's anointed. That is not irony โ€” that is mercy with a long memory.

If your family name carries weight you did not choose, consider the Korahites. Elkanah and his kindred did not overcome their history by erasing it. They walked forward in faithfulness, and God wrote new chapters over the old ones.

Your name, too, is still being written.
