**Isaiah 59:2** โ *"But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear."*
Notice the architecture of that language โ Isaiah does not say God *withdrew*. He says *we built*. The barrier has a builder, and it is us.
This is not a passage about God's distance. It is a passage about human construction. Every act of unconfessed sin lays another stone. Every compromise of covenant quietly raises the wall another course.
The mercy hidden within this verse is its precision: what we build, grace can dismantle. Nehemiah rebuilt walls for protection; confession tears down walls of separation. The same God who *does not hear* in verse two is the same God who, in verse 20, promises a Redeemer.
Walk with that tension today โ the barrier is real, and so is the One who removes it.
*Steward your confession well.*
