Sean Strickland has done it again. For the second time in three years, the man walked into a UFC title fight as a massive underdog and walked out as middleweight champion of the world. At UFC three twenty eight in Newark, Strickland dethroned the previously unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev by split decision, forty eight to forty seven on two of the three cards. Twice now, Strickland has made the impossible look routine.
Shifting to the ice, the Colorado Avalanche are facing real trouble in the playoffs. Colorado suffered their first postseason loss Saturday night against Minnesota, and it got ugly enough that starter Scott Wedgewood was pulled after surrendering three goals on just twelve shots in under twenty five minutes of work. The Avalanche brass says they have a decision to make in net, and that decision cannot wait.
And in the squared circle, Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Backlash two thousand twenty six in what turned into a genuine family drama. His cousin Jacob Fatu pushed him to the absolute limit in a wild, back and forth thriller. Reigns holds the gold, but the Fatu family tension is far from finished.
