**Daniel 4:15** — *"But leave the stump with its roots in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven and graze with the beasts on the grass of the earth."*

Nebuchadnezzar stood at the height of empire — and God preserved the stump.

This is not a verse about destruction. It is a covenant of restraint. The iron and bronze are not punishment; they are protection. God could have let the tree fall entirely. Instead, He bound what remained, keeping the roots alive beneath the soil.

There is mercy in the banding. When God reduces us — strips title, comfort, or clarity — He does not abandon the root. He tends it. Dew still falls on the humbled.

Walk with this: the stump you fear becoming may be the very ground where restoration is quietly being prepared.
