**Psalm 145:20** โ€” *"The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy."*

David wrote this not from a comfortable throne, but from decades of being hunted, betrayed, and misunderstood. He had seen the wicked prosper โ€” and then watched them unravel. Preservation here is not a promise of ease. It is a covenant word. The Hebrew *shamar* carries the weight of a shepherd standing guard through the night, alert when his flock cannot be.

To love God, in David's understanding, was to cling to Him precisely when circumstances offered every reason to let go. That clinging โ€” that stubborn, covenant fidelity โ€” is what the LORD honors with His watchful presence.

The wicked are not destroyed because God is harsh. They are destroyed because they have chosen a path with no shelter at its end.

Walk with Him today, beloved โ€” and let the Shepherd's guard be your confidence.
