**Deuteronomy 5:2** โ€” *"The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Horeb."*

Moses spoke these words to a generation that had not stood at Horeb. The children, not the parents, were crossing into Canaan. Yet he said *us* โ€” not *them*, not *our ancestors*, but *us*.

Covenant in Scripture is not a transaction frozen in history. It is a living bond, passed through lineage and grace, still binding, still warm to the touch. The God who spoke through fire at Horeb is the same God Paul echoes in Romans 8:38-39 โ€” that nothing can sever what He has joined to Himself.

This is the steward's posture: to receive an inheritance we did not earn, to walk in promises we did not negotiate, and to testify faithfully that the covenant holds.

Walk with that weight today โ€” not as burden, but as belonging.
