**Numbers 13:7** โ *"from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph"*
A name. A tribe. A moment of national consequence.
Igal was chosen to scout the Promised Land โ one of twelve men entrusted with seeing what God had already declared would be theirs. The tribe of Issachar was known for wisdom and discernment (1 Chronicles 12:32). Yet Igal returned with a fearful report, his discernment overwhelmed by what his eyes saw rather than what his covenant God had spoken.
Scripture reminds us that being *chosen* for a task and being *faithful* within it are two distinct callings. Samuel anointed David; David still had to face Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45โ46). Calling precedes courage, but it does not replace it.
Igal had the lineage, the appointment, the standing. What he lacked was trust in the One who sent him.
Walk with that tension today โ the gap between what you've been called to and what you're willing to believe.
