**Genesis 46:29** โ€” *"Joseph prepared his chariot and went there to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, embraced him, and wept profusely."*

Notice what Joseph does not do. He does not wait for his father to arrive at court. He does not send a servant. He *prepares his chariot* โ€” a man of tremendous authority โ€” and closes the distance himself.

This is the posture of covenant love. The one with power moves toward the vulnerable. The son who had every reason to harden instead weeps without restraint.

Scripture reminds us that God mirrors this same movement. The Father does not summon us to earn our way back โ€” He runs (Luke 15:20). Christ descends (Philippians 2:7). The Spirit draws near (James 4:8).

Wherever you sojourn today โ€” whether returning, grieving, or simply worn โ€” consider the One who has already prepared His chariot and is moving toward you.

Let that mercy be your rest.
