**Luke 8:41** โ€” *"Just then a synagogue leader named Jairus came and fell at Jesus' feet. He begged Him to come to his house."*

Jairus held a position of religious authority โ€” a man accustomed to others standing before *him*. Yet here he is, face down at the feet of a carpenter from Galilee.

Desperation has a way of dismantling pride.

His daughter was dying. Every credential, every title, every social standing he had cultivated meant nothing in that moment. So he fell. He begged. He became, in an instant, simply a father who needed a Shepherd.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18 that *"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted."* Jairus did not approach Jesus with theology โ€” he approached with need. And Christ did not turn away.

There is grace reserved for those willing to kneel before the One who can actually help.

Consider what you may still be trying to carry in your own strength today.
