**1 John 5:12** — *"Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."*
John does not soften this. No qualifications, no gradations — only two categories, and the line between them is the Son.
This is not severity for its own sake. It is the covenant clarity of a shepherd who loves his flock enough to mark the gate plainly. Life is not a spiritual atmosphere one drifts into; it is a Person one receives. Jesus himself declared it in John 14:6 — *"I am the way and the truth and the life."*
The apostle Paul echoes it in Colossians 3:4 — *"Christ, who is your life."* Not Christ, who improves your life. Christ, who **is** your life.
To abide in the Son is to abide in life itself — not merely existence, but the fullness of what God designed you to bear.
Let us reflect on what — or *Who* — we are truly holding.
