**Genesis 26:25** โ *"So Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the LORD, and he pitched his tent there. His servants also dug a well there."*
Notice the sequence. Altar first. Tent second. Well third.
Isaac had just been driven from Gerar, stripped of two hard-won wells, pressed by conflict on every side. And when the LORD appeared to him in that displacement, Isaac's first act was worship โ not strategy, not survival, not negotiation. He consecrated the ground before he claimed it.
The tent and the well followed the altar. Provision flowed from posture.
This is the covenant pattern Scripture testifies to again and again: those who dwell first in the presence of God find that the practical necessities of life are ordered beneath that foundation, not instead of it.
Walk with Isaac here โ a sojourner who built no palace, yet left a well for those who came after him.
Let us reflect on what we build first.
