**Psalms 37:31** โ€” *"The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not falter."*

Notice what the psalmist does not say. He does not say the righteous man *consults* the law before each step. He says the law *dwells* in the heart โ€” internalized, not referenced. This is the difference between a traveler who stops to read a map and one who knows the land by memory.

David wrote Psalm 37 as an acrostic โ€” a deliberate, structured poem โ€” to men watching wicked neighbors prosper. The temptation was to doubt and detour. His counsel: abide so deeply in God's word that your footing holds even when the ground around you shifts.

Scripture reminds us that formation precedes faithfulness. The steady walk is not the result of willpower โ€” it is the overflow of a heart shaped by covenant.

Walk with the Word long enough, and your steps will bear witness to it.
