**Genesis 30:1** โ€” *"When Rachel saw that she was not bearing any children for Jacob, she envied her sister. 'Give me children, or I will die!' she said to Jacob."*

Rachel's anguish was not quiet. It erupted โ€” raw, desperate, aimed at the wrong person.

Jacob could not open a womb. Neither could envy. Yet Rachel's pain drove her to demand from a husband what only God could give.

Consider the pattern here: when our deepest yearning goes unmet, we often turn to the nearest human source and demand what only the Covenant Maker holds in His hand. Psalm 127:3 is not sentiment โ€” *"Children are a heritage from the Lord."* Heritage is not negotiated with people. It is received from Him.

Rachel's cry was real. Her misdirection was also real.

Scripture reminds us that our most desperate prayers belong before the throne, not transferred onto those who walk beside us.

Let us reflect on where we are directing our deepest longings today.
