**2 Kings 6:4** โ *"So Elisha went with them, and when they came to the Jordan, they began to cut down some trees."*
A prophet. A river. Men swinging axes.
No sermon here โ only a master who rolled up his sleeves and went *with* them. Elisha, the anointed successor of Elijah, did not send instructions from a distance. He walked to the Jordan. He stood among the labor.
This is the shepherd's posture: presence before prescription.
Scripture reminds us in John 1:14 that the Word *dwelt among us* โ not above us, not ahead of us, but *with* us. And in Philippians 2:7, Christ emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant.
The miracle that follows in this passage โ the floating axhead โ happens *because* Elisha was there. Proximity to the work is often where grace makes itself known.
Consider the places you have been sending wisdom rather than bringing it.
