**Matthew 5:4** β *"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."*
There is a grave in your story that God has not forgotten.
Jesus does not say *blessed are those who have recovered* or *blessed are those who have moved on.* He says blessed are those who *mourn* β present tense, still in it, still carrying the weight. The Greek *penthountes* describes an active, visible grief. Not polished. Not resolved.
This beatitude is not a prescription for how to grieve. It is a covenant promise to those already in the middle of it.
The comfort He offers β *paraklΔthΔsontai* β is the same root as Paraclete, the Holy Spirit. The Comforter does not arrive after the mourning ends. He dwells *within* the mourning itself.
Whatever grave you stand before today, Scripture reminds us: you are not waiting for God to show up. He is already there.
Let that abide with you.
