**Ephesians 1:5** โ€” *"He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will."*

Adoption in the Roman world was no casual act. A father chose deliberately โ€” transferring full legal standing, erasing prior debt, conferring his name. Paul reaches for *that* image to describe what God has done in Christ.

Not rescue alone. Not pardon alone. *Adoption.*

The Greek word here, *huiothesia*, carries the weight of permanent placement โ€” a covenant standing that cannot be revoked by circumstance or failure. You were not an afterthought welcomed reluctantly. You were chosen according to the *good pleasure* of His will โ€” which means God delighted in this.

By grace, you bear His name not as a guest in the house, but as an heir within it.

Walk with that today. Let the weight of chosen, permanent belonging settle somewhere deeper than your feelings can reach.
