**Ezekiel 44:10** โ€” *"Surely the Levites who wandered away from Me when Israel went astray, and who wandered away from Me after their idols, will bear the consequences of their iniquity."*

The Levites were consecrated stewards of the sacred โ€” and yet they drifted. Not strangers to God's house, but insiders who chose idols over covenant faithfulness. That is the sharper wound.

Notice what God does not say here: He does not say they are abandoned. He says they will bear consequences. There is a difference. Discipline is not rejection โ€” it is the shepherd refusing to pretend the wandering did not happen.

Hebrews 12:6 confirms this: *"the Lord disciplines the one He loves."* And Ezekiel 44:14 still assigns the Levites duties in the temple โ€” diminished, yes, but present.

Proximity to holy things does not protect us from drift. Covenant faithfulness requires daily return.

Walk with God today as if it were a choice โ€” because it is.
