**Jeremiah 18:18** โ€” *"Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an oracle to the prophet. Come, let us denounce him and pay no heed to any of his words."*

Notice what the conspirators assumed: that the established institutions โ€” priest, sage, prophet โ€” guaranteed a steady supply of divine guidance, making Jeremiah expendable. They confused the *office* with the *anointing*.

It is a subtle drift, this โ€” trusting the structure more than the Spirit who fills it. Jeremiah's accusers had clergy, tradition, and consensus on their side. They had everything except the living word of God.

Scripture reminds us that God's covenant faithfulness does not belong to any institution. It flows through surrendered vessels, often the ones the crowd dismisses.

Walk with that today โ€” and consider who in your own community may be carrying a word the comfortable have chosen not to hear.
