**Matthew 5:42** β€” *"Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."*

A neighbor appears at your door, embarrassed, asking for twenty dollars until Friday. The moment stretches. Something in us calculates β€” *will I see this again?*

Jesus does not counsel naivety here. He is reshaping the posture of the heart. The covenant community He envisions is not one that hoards grace while rationing mercy to the deserving. The Greek *straphΔ“s* β€” "do not turn away" β€” carries the image of physically rotating your face from someone. Christ forbids that turning.

Stewardship is not only about what we protect. It is equally about what we release.

What we hold loosely for others, God holds faithfully for us β€” and that is the ground on which the open hand stands.

Walk with open hands today, beloved, and let that posture testify to what you believe about provision.
