**Exodus 24:6** โ€” *"Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and the other half he splattered on the altar."*

Blood divided. Half toward God, half held in reserve for the people.

This is covenant-making in its most visceral form โ€” not a handshake, not a signature, but a shared substance. When Moses later sprinkles that remaining blood on the congregation in verse 8, he declares: *"This is the blood of the covenant."* The altar and the people are bound by the same life.

Scripture reminds us that covenants cost something. They are not casual arrangements. They are sealed, witnessed, and carried in the body.

Centuries later, at another table, another covenant would be ratified โ€” not by an animal's blood in bowls, but by the Son's own offering, poured out once, sufficient forever. *Hebrews 9:22* confirms: without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.

Consider the weight of what you have been brought into.
