**Job 41:5** โ *"Can you pet him like a bird or put him on a leash for your maidens?"*
God is speaking of Leviathan โ a creature of crushing power, untamable and sovereign in its domain. The question is almost tender in its irony: *Can you make this fearsome thing a household pet?*
The answer, of course, is no. And that is precisely the point.
When God spoke these words to Job from the whirlwind, He wasn't mocking Job's suffering โ He was reorienting Job's vision. The God who fashioned Leviathan and holds its leash is the same God who holds yours.
Steward what you can. Release what you cannot. There is profound mercy in the boundary between human reach and divine sovereignty.
Scripture reminds us that wisdom begins not with answers, but with reverence โ *"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom"* (Proverbs 9:10).
Let us reflect on what we are still trying to leash that belongs in God's hands alone.
