**Daniel 9:15** โ *"Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and who made for Yourself a name renowned to this day, we have sinned; we have acted wickedly."*
Notice what Daniel does before he confesses: he rehearses what God has *already done*.
This is not flattery. It is covenant logic. Daniel anchors his repentance in God's proven faithfulness โ the Exodus, the renowned name, the mighty hand โ because confession offered to an unknown God is merely regret. Confession offered to *this* God is restoration.
He does not minimize the sin. *We have sinned. We have acted wickedly.* Both lines stand, unshielded.
Yet the prayer breathes. Because Daniel knows who receives it.
Walk with that today โ that true repentance is not self-punishment dressed in religious language. It is coming home to a God whose mercy has already been demonstrated in history, and trusting that same hand to receive you now.
Let us reflect on what we know of Him before we speak.
