**Nehemiah 3:14** โ *"The Dung Gate was repaired by Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the district of Beth-haccherem. He rebuilt it and installed its doors, bolts, and bars."*
The Dung Gate. The least honorable assignment in all of Jerusalem's restoration โ the gate through which waste was carried out of the city.
Malchijah didn't negotiate for a better section of wall. He received the inglorious post and installed every door, bolt, and bar with the same care a craftsman would give the city's grandest entrance.
Scripture reminds us that faithful stewardship rarely announces itself. The work God places before us is not always visible, celebrated, or fragrant. Yet Nehemiah recorded Malchijah's name โ preserved it โ alongside every noble ruler and priest who labored in that great rebuilding.
By grace, the work you do in obscurity is seen by the One whose record endures forever.
Consider the gate you've been assigned โ and the faithfulness it deserves.
