**Leviticus 26:32** โ€” *"And I will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who dwell in it will be appalled."*

Even judgment carries a hidden mercy.

When Israel broke covenant, God did not simply hand the land to their enemies as a prize. He made it *appalling* โ€” uninhabitable, resistant to those who would claim it. The very desolation became a guardian. Conquerors arrived and found a land that would not yield itself to them.

Scripture reminds us that God's discipline is never simple abandonment. Even in laying waste, He is at work โ€” preserving covenant, withholding the land from those who had no right to it, keeping a future open for His people.

Walk with this: the barrenness you may be standing in right now may not be punishment alone. It may be a field God is refusing to let the wrong hands harvest.

Let us reflect on what He is still protecting in the desolation.
