**Mark 14:49** โ€” *"Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me. But this has happened that the Scriptures would be fulfilled."*

Notice what Jesus does not do here: He does not resist. He does not call down fire. He reminds His captors โ€” calmly, with full authority โ€” that every moment has been sovereign. The torches, the swords, the betrayal kiss: none of it surprised the Shepherd of our souls.

This is the covenant keeping God at work. Prophecy written centuries before Gethsemane was now breathing in real time. Isaiah 53. Zechariah 13:7. The Scriptures did not merely *predict* this night โ€” they *governed* it.

When your own dark hours feel chaotic and uncontrolled, Scripture reminds us that God's purposes are not derailed by what overwhelms us. He has been present in every temple court of your life โ€” and He remains so now.

Walk with that assurance today.
