**Isaiah 37:3** โ€” *"Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace; for children have come to the point of birth, but there is no strength to deliver them."*

Hezekiah's messenger carries these words to Isaiah at the lowest possible hour โ€” Assyria at the gates, the city paralyzed, hope contracting like a breath held too long.

The image is precise and visceral: labor without delivery. The promise is present. The timing is right. But the strength has failed.

Scripture reminds us that God does not abandon His people at the threshold of what He has prepared. The very moment Hezekiah named his weakness aloud, Isaiah received a word of deliverance. Confession of helplessness became the corridor through which mercy walked.

When you find yourself at that exact edge โ€” where the promise feels real but your strength does not โ€” consider the posture of Hezekiah: bring it to the shepherd, not the sword.

The One who authors the birth also provides the strength to deliver it.
