**1 Chronicles 21:11** โ€” *"So Gad went and said to David, 'This is what the LORD says: You must choose.'"*

Three options. One king. No escape from the weight of the moment.

David had sinned by numbering Israel โ€” and now the consequences arrived not as punishment alone, but as a choice. God, in His covenant mercy, still extended agency to His servant. That is worth pausing over. Even in discipline, the LORD did not strip David of dignity. He sent a shepherd โ€” Gad the prophet โ€” to stand before a king and say: *you must choose.*

Stewardship of our decisions does not end when we have failed. Grace does not erase accountability, but it does restore our standing before God as those still trusted to respond.

Scripture reminds us that wisdom begins precisely here โ€” in the moment we stop running and stand ready to receive what the LORD says.

Let us reflect on what choice we have been postponing.
