**Jeremiah 49:22** โ€” *"Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down, spreading its wings over Bozrah. In that day the hearts of Edom's mighty men will be like the heart of a woman in labor."*

Edom was proud. Carved into cliffs, shielded by stone, her warriors trusted in the geography of their strength. Then the eagle came โ€” not as metaphor, but as covenant judgment. God had spoken against Esau's line through multiple prophets, and what they dismissed as distant warning became the shadow overhead.

Scripture reminds us: the confidence of the mighty is not the same as the covering of the Lord. Edom's men โ€” seasoned, battle-hardened โ€” were reduced to trembling. Not by superior armies alone, but by the sovereign sweep of divine purpose.

There is a difference between being strong *in position* and being strong *in covenant*. One can be dismantled in a moment. The other endures.

Walk with that distinction today โ€” and let it settle where it needs to.
