**1 Kings 19:10** โ€” *"I have been very zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts, but the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well."*

Elijah, fresh from fire falling on Carmel, now sits in a cave rehearsing his grief. Notice what he says: not *I have failed*, but *I am the only one left*. Isolation had rewritten his theology. Burnout does that โ€” it narrows our vision until the covenant looks like it rests on our shoulders alone.

God's answer was not a rebuke. It was bread, rest, and the quiet revelation that seven thousand in Israel had never bowed to Baal (1 Kings 19:18). The faithful remnant existed; Elijah simply could not see them from inside the cave.

Let us reflect on what caves we may be speaking from today.
